Group Bookings: Facilities and Discounts

The Museum is home to 45 rescued historic buildings reconstructed in a beautiful 50 acre parkland setting in the South Downs, bringing to life the homes, farms and workplaces of the south east over the past 500 years.

The Museum welcomes group visits, with discounted rates for groups of 15 or more which must be booked in advance.  There is a free daily tour (during normal opening hours) at 1.30 pm of the Downland Gridshell building which houses our conservation workshop and fascinating collection of rural artefacts. In addition, guided tours of the Museum, which last for about two hours, may be booked at least two weeks in advance. Tours cost £30 for up to 25 people and can be focussed towards particular areas of interest if required.

Free coach and car parking is available. The lakeside self-service café offers light hot and cold home made lunches and snacks.  Picnics may be eaten anywhere on site, and there is outdoor and indoor seating. Coach drivers may enter the Museum for free and receive a voucher for use in the café. An explanatory leaflet for disabled visitors is available on request.

2008 group prices:
adults/seniors £6.85
child £2.80
