This award winning beach is a family-friendly beach consisting of sand and shingle, sloping gently towards the sea. Part of the beach is a relatively safe swimming area where watercraft are discouraged. There is a Kid Care scheme in operation of free colour-coded wristbands linked to beach zones to reduce the numbers of lost children. Water sports enthusiasts on the adjacent beach have the option of windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, dinghy sailing and jet-skiing.

A typical south coast shelving shingle beach with groynes and where the waves have a tendency to 'dump' at high tide. At low tide it is sandy with extensive shallows.

Award winning beach. Mostly sandy beach backed by a promenade. There is a slipway at the beach.

The mixed pebble and sand beach is popular for a wide variety of watersports including kitesurfing, has a boat ramp, and is dog-friendly. There is a busy café at its western end.

Littlehampton Coastguards beach is great for all ages with its family friendly beach of sand and shingle which slopes gently towards the sea. Part of the beach is a relatively safe swimming area where watercraft are discouraged. Watersport enthusiasts on the adjacent beach have the option of windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, sailing and jet skiing. This excellent beach has the added bonus of RLSS Beach Lifeguards, a Coastguards Tower overlooking the beach and the Foreshore Station incorporating a First Aid and Lost Children Centre. Adjacent amenities include a modern funfair theme park, theatre and cinema.

A sandy beach set on the south coast just to the east of Bognor Regis.
Name: Pagham Beach

Pagham is a quiet seaside resort, it is a European Designated Bathing Beach and is proud of its sea water quality, in 2007 scoring excellent marks. A south east facing shingle beach. There is a large shingle bar at the harbour entrance making this a good beach for windsurfing. A WW2 Mulberry Harbour platform protrudes from the sea at low tide. The local harbour is also a fantastic nature reserve with good access all around. Of local historic interest are the old railway carriages still in use for some of the beach houses.

At Selsey there is the unique Selsey Bill low headland that reaches 3 miles out to sea. The beach extends in both directions from the headland. The groyne-ribbed beach to the east is most popular, backed by the sea wall with shingle stretching to Pagham

A shingle beach with sea defences and some vegetation in the shingle. Very popular with windsurfers. There is an area of parkland behind the beach.

Name: West Wittering Beach

A spacious sandy beach and an area recognised for its natural beauty and wildlife. Picnic areas, cafe and large car park.With a wonderful stretch of open countryside behind a natural non-commercialised sandy beach, West Wittering is a favourite destination for a family day out. Cars park very close to the beach on extensive areas of mown grass which are also perfect for picnics, barbeques and games. Swimming and paddling are popular in the sandy tidal pools and the area is a mecca for wind and kite surfers. In summer this unique site can accommodate crowds yet provide solitude. The area is internationally recognised for its wild natural beauty and wildlife.
